Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, monthly, and annual accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other finance teams and business units to gather information and resolve discrepancies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and analyses as required by management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas).
- Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA.
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
- Knowledge of IFRS and other international accounting standards.
- Prior experience working at a major financial institution or in public accounting.
