Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive patient consultations, including physical examinations and medical history assessments.
  • Diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Managing complex patient cases, coordinating care with specialist services, and making appropriate referrals.
  • Prescribing medication and monitoring treatment effectiveness in line with national guidelines.
  • Providing preventative health advice, health screenings, and immunizations.
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient medical records using electronic systems.
  • Participating in regular practice meetings, clinical audits, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Collaborating effectively with the wider healthcare team, including nurses, practice pharmacists, and administrative staff.
  • Adhering to ethical and legal standards of medical practice, including safeguarding and patient confidentiality.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of practice policies and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
  • Eligibility for full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK (or demonstrable steps towards it)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent specialist qualification in General Practice/Family Medicine (e.g., FRCGP)
  • Proven experience as a General Practitioner, demonstrating clinical expertise and sound decision-making
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice
  • Proficiency in using electronic patient record systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working within the UK's NHS primary care system
