Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated General Practitioner to join our dynamic team at Broadmead Medical Centre. As a GP with Broadmead Medical Centre, you will manage a varied caseload, providing holistic medical care to patients of all ages. You will be instrumental in diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, offering preventative health advice, and coordinating care pathways within the broader NHS framework. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive consultations, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions.
- Provide evidence-based medical care to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, making appropriate referrals to secondary care.
- Manage chronic disease clinics, including patient reviews and care plan development.
- Prescribe medication responsibly and in accordance with current guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using our electronic health record system.
- Participate in regular practice meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to health promotion and disease prevention activities within the community.
- Engage in continuous professional development and revalidation requirements.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff or students, if applicable.
Required Skills
- Full GMC (General Medical Council) registration with a licence to practice.
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice (or equivalent).
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in a UK primary care setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and a patient-centred approach.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in using electronic patient record systems (e.g., EMIS Web, SystmOne).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MRCP, DRCOG, DCH, DFSRH).
- Experience with minor surgery, joint injections, or other specialist primary care procedures.
- Previous experience supervising trainees or medical students.
- Experience in specific areas such as substance misuse, mental health, or safeguarding.
- Leadership or management experience within a healthcare setting.
