Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic, results-oriented, and visionary General Manager to take the helm of our flagship Kuriftu Resort & Spa in Bishoftu. We are seeking an accomplished leader with a proven track record in luxury hospitality management who can hit the ground running for an immediate start. As the General Manager, you will be the heart and soul of our resort, directly responsible for the entire operational success, financial performance, and guest satisfaction across all departments. You will lead, inspire, and develop a large team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and unparalleled service delivery.

Your mission will be to meticulously oversee all facets of the resort, ensuring that every guest experience is not just satisfactory but truly unforgettable. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of resort operations, including front office, food & beverage, housekeeping, sales & marketing, human resources, and maintenance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve and exceed business goals, including revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction targets.
  • Manage financial performance, including budget preparation, expense control, revenue generation, and financial reporting.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional growth.
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high service standards, addressing guest feedback, and proactively anticipating needs.
  • Uphold brand standards and operational procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all departments.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee supply chain logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Represent the resort in the local community, building strong relationships with stakeholders, government officials, and local businesses.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in resort services and operations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in hospitality management, with at least 5 years in a General Manager or similar senior leadership role in a luxury hotel or resort.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations, finances, and human resources effectively.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth, managing budgets, and achieving profitability targets.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of luxury guest service standards and guest relations.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience with resort pre-opening or significant renovation projects.
  • Multilingual proficiency, especially in Amharic or Oromo.
  • Strong understanding of the Ethiopian tourism market and cultural nuances.
  • Certification in hospitality management or a related professional qualification.
