Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks.
  • Perform site clean-up and maintain a tidy and safe work environment, including waste removal.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment manually or using basic machinery.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently as directed.
  • Dig trenches, shovel earth, and compact gravel, snow, or other materials.
  • Erect and dismantle temporary structures, such as scaffolding or barricades.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with site preparation, including setting up and tearing down work zones.
  • Support concrete pouring, finishing, and general concrete work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada, or eligible for appropriate work permits/visas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience on a construction site.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic first aid certification.
  • Experience operating basic construction equipment (e.g., skid steer, forklift – certification a plus).
  • Familiarity with various hand and power tools.
