Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas safely and efficiently.
- Assist skilled tradespersons such as carpenters, electricians, masons, and plumbers with various tasks as directed.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, trash, and hazardous materials, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including but not limited to shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and compactors.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to specified grades and standards.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades following all safety protocols.
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, participating in safety briefings and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Follow instructions from site supervisors and project managers with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support the overall project by ensuring the worksite remains organized, accessible, and compliant with regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs repeatedly), bending, stooping, and climbing.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures and willingness to follow all guidelines.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a commitment to completing tasks thoroughly.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and take direction, demonstrating adaptability.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and adapting to changing project demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous experience (6 months to 1 year) in a construction or manual labor role.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a significant advantage.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the job site.
