Job Description

As a Gatekeeper specializing in entry and residence security, you will be the first point of contact and an essential pillar of security for a prestigious residential property within the vibrant Twickenham Park community in Spanish Town. This critical role requires an individual with exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach to security, and outstanding interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for meticulously managing access to the premises, ensuring the safety and privacy of residents, and maintaining a secure environment around the clock. Your duties will encompass a wide range of security functions, from monitoring surveillance systems and conducting routine patrols to verifying visitor credentials and responding to incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control and monitor access to the residential property, verifying credentials of all individuals and vehicles entering and exiting.
  • Operate and monitor CCTV systems, alarm panels, and other security technologies to detect and deter unauthorized activities.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the perimeter and designated areas to identify and report any security breaches or suspicious activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all visitors, deliveries, incidents, and shift activities.
  • Enforce property rules and regulations consistently and courteously.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, escalating as necessary to relevant authorities or management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents and authorized visitors, assisting with inquiries and providing directions when needed.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks, such as receiving packages and distributing mail, as required.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of all gatehouse equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.
  • Collaborate with other security personnel and property management to enhance overall security operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in security, access control, or a similar role, ideally 6+ months.
  • Excellent observation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English.
  • Ability to operate basic security equipment (CCTV, two-way radios, access control systems).
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in residential or estate security.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols.
  • Valid Jamaican driver's license.
  • Proficiency in using basic computer software for record-keeping.
