As a Gardener with Evergreen Landscaping, you will be instrumental in ensuring the pristine condition and vibrant health of our clients’ gardens and grounds. Your daily tasks will span across a variety of horticultural activities, from precise pruning and planting to comprehensive seasonal maintenance and light landscaping. You will be responsible for the care of lawns, shrubs, trees, and perennial borders, requiring both a broad knowledge of plant health and the practical skills to implement effective care strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general garden maintenance including weeding, pruning, planting, watering, and mulching.
- Mow, edge, and treat lawns to ensure a neat and healthy appearance.
- Manage plant health, identifying and treating pests and diseases as required.
- Operate and maintain a range of gardening equipment and machinery safely and efficiently (e.g., mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers).
- Undertake seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing, winter protection, and spring preparation.
- Assist with minor landscaping projects, including planting schemes and garden renovations.
- Ensure all work is carried out to high horticultural standards and client specifications.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members, providing updates and professional advice.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment and tools.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in professional gardening or grounds maintenance.
- Solid knowledge of horticultural practices, plant identification, and plant care.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools and power gardening equipment.
- Strong physical fitness and stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
