Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily landscaping and gardening duties, including planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding, mulching, and pruning of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, trimming, and ensuring proper irrigation schedules.
- Monitor the health of plants and landscapes, identifying and treating diseases, pests, and other issues promptly using appropriate methods.
- Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Implement seasonal planting and landscaping projects to enhance property aesthetics.
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of all garden areas, including debris removal and waste disposal.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a gardener or landscaper, preferably within a corporate or estate management setting.
- In-depth knowledge of various plant types, their care requirements, and local flora suitable for Abuja's climate.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining gardening tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to identify and address common plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Strong understanding of irrigation systems and water conservation techniques.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Keen eye for detail and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful and healthy landscapes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or vocational training in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field.
- Experience with sustainable gardening practices and organic pest control methods.
- Basic knowledge of landscape design principles to contribute to garden layout improvements.
