DHL is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full-Time Lead Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic team in Nitro, West Virginia. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse facility, overseeing critical aspects of inventory management, order fulfillment, and team coordination. As a Lead Warehouse Associate, you will act as a frontline leader, bridging the gap between management and the operational team. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of warehouse associates, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Oversee daily inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, and proper documentation.
  • Operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust staffing as needed to meet operational deadlines and efficiency targets.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and management to address operational challenges and ensure seamless communication across shifts.
  • Prepare daily reports on warehouse activities, including productivity, inventory status, and any operational issues.
  • Provide hands-on support for all warehouse tasks as needed, demonstrating leadership by example.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, reach trucks) with valid certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Experience with SAP or other advanced WMS.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and hazmat handling procedures.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
