Job Description

We are seeking an exceptionally talented and highly motivated Full-Time Director of Operations to lead our strategic initiatives and daily execution in New Jersey, with a specific focus on optimizing processes and collaborating with our network that includes strategic hubs like Dallas. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a large-scale operations team, fostering a culture of high performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic operational plans that align with company goals, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the entire operational lifecycle, including inbound/outbound logistics, inventory management, fulfillment processes, and last-mile delivery.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive process optimization and standardization across all operational sites, leveraging Lean methodologies and Amazon's operational principles.
  • Manage significant operational budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders, including engineering, HR, safety, and finance, to achieve integrated operational success.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and promote a proactive safety culture within the operational environment.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a diverse team of operations managers and staff, fostering leadership growth and succession planning.
  • Drive technological adoption and innovation to enhance operational capabilities and responsiveness to market demands, potentially including solutions developed in coordination with our Dallas teams.
  • Represent operations in senior leadership meetings, providing insights, updates, and strategic recommendations.

Required Skills

  • 15+ years of experience in operations management within a large-scale logistics, manufacturing, or e-commerce environment.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing large teams in a fast-paced, high-volume operational setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Extensive experience with Lean principles, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, develop budgets, and control costs effectively.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and data visualization tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or MS) in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in a global logistics or supply chain environment.
  • Prior experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Familiarity with Amazon's operational network and culture.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
