Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and UPS safety regulations.
- Deliver and pick up packages at designated residential and commercial locations.
- Sort and load packages onto the delivery vehicle according to assigned routes.
- Effectively use handheld scanning devices to record package information and track deliveries.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving delivery issues courteously.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain necessary signatures.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Manage time and route effectively to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring they are not damaged during transit or delivery.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling and security.
Required Skills
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid state driver's license (Class C equivalent or higher) with a clean driving record for at least 3 years.
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry packages up to 70 lbs. independently.
- Ability to push and pull wheeled carts containing multiple packages that may weigh up to 150 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Successful completion of a physical exam and drug screen.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, with potential for weekend work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role.
- Familiarity with the Jacksonville, Florida metropolitan area.
- High School Diploma or GED.
