Job Description
East Africa Gate (EAG) is seeking a talented, self-motivated, and highly organized Freelance Social Media Manager to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive social media strategies for various client accounts, ensuring alignment with their specific marketing goals and brand identities.
- Create, curate, and manage engaging and high-quality written, image, and video content tailored for all major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
- Schedule and publish posts, stories, and reels using appropriate tools, ensuring optimal timing and maximum reach and engagement.
- Proactively monitor social media channels for industry trends, brand mentions, customer inquiries, and competitor activities, responding promptly and professionally.
- Analyze social media performance data, generate insightful reports, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize future strategies and achieve client KPIs.
- Manage and optimize social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, audience targeting, ad creation, and performance tracking.
- Collaborate effectively with graphic designers, videographers, and content writers to ensure all visual and textual content is on-brand, high-quality, and resonates with target audiences.
- Stay continuously up-to-date with the latest social media best practices, tools, technologies, and platform changes.
- Actively engage with online communities and key influencers to build brand awareness, foster positive relationships, and expand client reach.
- Provide strategic recommendations for content creation, community engagement tactics, and overall campaign optimization based on performance data and market insights.
- Ensure all social media activities comply with ethical standards, client guidelines, and relevant data privacy regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Social Media Manager, Digital Marketing Specialist, or a similar role.
- Excellent practical knowledge of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) and their respective best practices.
- Solid understanding of social media KPIs, web traffic metrics, content marketing principles, and basic SEO principles.
- Demonstrable experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Later).
- Exceptional ability to deliver creative, compelling, and effective content across various formats (text, image, video).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Amharic.
- Highly analytical and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and superior time management abilities, with a proven capacity to consistently meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience with social media advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
- Proficiency in basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) for content creation.
- Proven track record of significantly growing social media engagement, followership, and driving conversions for client accounts.
- Prior experience working in an agency environment or effectively managing multiple brands/clients simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of digital marketing trends and consumer behavior specific to the East African market.
