Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive safety inspections on vehicles, components, and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Identify potential safety hazards, non-conformances, and risks, documenting findings thoroughly and accurately.
  • Develop and recommend corrective actions and preventative measures to address identified safety issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to implement safety improvements and maintain consistent safety protocols.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintaining meticulous records of all safety audits, incidents, and resolutions.
  • Monitor adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and other relevant federal, state, and local safety standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to personnel on safety best practices and new safety procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations, analyze root causes, and propose solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay current with evolving safety standards, technologies, and best practices in the automotive industry.
  • Perform regular audits of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure functionality and compliance.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in safety inspection or quality assurance roles, preferably within a manufacturing or automotive setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and software for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CIH, OSHA 30-hour card).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive quality management systems (e.g., IATF 16949).
  • Prior experience working with a major automotive manufacturer.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
