Ford Motor Company is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Jones Valley, Huntsville, Alabama. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electrical components, modules, and systems for integration into various vehicle platforms.
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and wiring harness design using industry-standard CAD tools.
- Conduct thorough electrical system validation, including bench testing, HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) simulation, and vehicle-level testing.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and quality of electrical parts and systems.
- Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and implement robust corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, design documents, and validation plans.
- Stay abreast of emerging electrical engineering technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements relevant to automotive applications.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical system design, development, and validation, preferably within the automotive sector.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, OrCAD).
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical architectures, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and diagnostic standards.
- Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and firmware development.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with high-voltage systems and battery management systems in electric vehicles (EVs).
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (ISO 26262).
- Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) principles and testing.
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and configuration management.
