Billington’s Deli is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Service Attendant to join our vibrant team, specifically supporting our dining area. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and inviting ambiance of our dining space, assisting with food and beverage service, and providing outstanding customer care. Key Responsibilities
- Greeting customers warmly and assisting them with seating arrangements in the dining area.
- Presenting menus, taking food and beverage orders accurately, and relaying them to the kitchen or counter staff.
- Serving food and beverages promptly and courteously.
- Clearing and resetting tables efficiently and hygienically after customers depart.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the dining area, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Ensuring condiments, cutlery, and napkins are well-stocked and readily available for customers.
- Assisting with dishwashing and glass cleaning as required.
- Handling customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Operating point-of-sale (POS) systems for order processing and payment collection.
- Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborating effectively with kitchen staff, counter staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures for the dining area.
Required Skills
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a food service or hospitality setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.

- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Food Service Attendant, Waiter/Waitress, or similar role.
- Current Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1 or 2).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to food service.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
