Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and certified Fitness Trainer with a passion for helping individuals achieve their health and wellness goals? Nuffield Health Belfast City Centre is looking for an enthusiastic Part-Time Fitness Trainer to join our dedicated team, specifically focusing on morning shifts. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in creating an inspiring and supportive environment for our members, guiding them through personalised fitness programmes, and conducting engaging group exercise classes. You’ll work closely with members to understand their aspirations, develop tailored workout plans, and provide expert coaching to ensure safe and effective exercise. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments and consultations for new and existing members to understand their health history, fitness levels, and personal goals.
  • Design and implement safe, effective, and personalised exercise programmes tailored to individual member needs and preferences, incorporating a variety of training modalities.
  • Provide expert one-on-one and small group personal training sessions, offering continuous motivation, technique correction, and progress tracking.
  • Lead engaging and energetic group exercise classes during morning hours (e.g., HIIT, Circuit Training, Spin, Yoga, Pilates – depending on qualifications and club needs).
  • Educate members on proper exercise techniques, nutrition principles, and healthy lifestyle choices to support their overall wellbeing.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming fitness environment, ensuring all equipment is properly used and maintained.
  • Actively engage with members on the gym floor, offering support, advice, and fostering a positive community atmosphere.
  • Stay current with industry trends, fitness research, and best practices through continuous professional development.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, tracking member progress, and managing client records.
  • Collaborate with other Nuffield Health professionals, including physiotherapists and health advisors, to offer integrated care pathways for members.

Required Skills

  • REPs Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (or equivalent recognised certification).
  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality personal training and/or group exercise instruction.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise prescription.
  • A client-focused approach with the ability to build rapport and trust.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team during morning shifts.
  • Passion for health, fitness, and helping others achieve their potential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional fitness specialisation certifications (e.g., Pre/Post Natal, GP Referral, Strength & Conditioning, Pilates, Yoga).
  • Experience working with diverse populations and varying fitness levels.
  • Knowledge of nutrition principles and basic dietary advice.
  • Experience using fitness tracking software or apps.
  • Previous experience in a Nuffield Health facility or similar integrated health environment.
