Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks related to the processing of fish and seafood products, including sorting, grading, cutting, cleaning, and packaging.
  • Operate and monitor processing equipment as directed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, following all food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP, CFIA standards).
  • Inspect products for quality and defects, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient production flow and meet daily targets.
  • Handle raw and processed seafood products carefully to prevent damage and contamination.
  • Assist with loading and unloading products as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the production supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
  • Comfortable working in a cold and wet environment (typical of a fish processing plant).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic communication skills in English.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
