Key Responsibilities
- Perform various tasks related to seafood processing, including sorting, gutting, cutting, filleting, and packing fish according to quality standards and specifications.
- Operate and monitor processing machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by following strict hygiene and sanitation protocols.
- Inspect product to ensure it meets quality control standards and report any discrepancies.
- Assist with loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain a cohesive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure efficient plant operation.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) regularly.
- Ability to work effectively in a cold and wet environment for a full shift.
- Basic understanding of English for safety instructions and team communication.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food processing or production environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of food safety principles (HACCP, GMP) is a plus.
- Forklift operation certification (though not strictly required, it is beneficial).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
