Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks related to seafood processing, including sorting, gutting, cutting, filleting, and packing fish according to quality standards and specifications.
  • Operate and monitor processing machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by following strict hygiene and sanitation protocols.
  • Inspect product to ensure it meets quality control standards and report any discrepancies.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain a cohesive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure efficient plant operation.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity for extended periods.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) regularly.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cold and wet environment for a full shift.
  • Basic understanding of English for safety instructions and team communication.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food processing or production environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of food safety principles (HACCP, GMP) is a plus.
  • Forklift operation certification (though not strictly required, it is beneficial).
  • First Aid certification.
