As a Relationship Manager, your core responsibility will be to proactively identify new business opportunities, deepen existing client relationships, and strategically cross-sell our comprehensive suite of banking products and services. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and strategically grow a diversified portfolio of existing individual and corporate clients, identifying opportunities for increased engagement and product penetration.
  • Proactively acquire new clients through targeted outreach, professional networking, and successful referral generation to expand the bank's customer base in the Mararaba/Abuja region.
  • Conduct thorough financial needs assessments for clients, providing expert advice and recommending suitable banking products and services that align with their goals.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed assigned sales targets for a wide range of products including deposits, loans, digital banking solutions, and investment instruments.
  • Prepare comprehensive, clear, and compelling financial proposals and presentations for clients, ensuring full transparency and understanding.
  • Maintain exceptionally high levels of customer satisfaction by providing prompt, efficient, and professional service, effectively resolving inquiries and issues.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal departments (e.g., credit, operations, product development, compliance) to ensure efficient service delivery and optimal product customization.
  • Stay rigorously updated on prevailing market trends, competitor activities, and evolving regulatory changes to provide informed advice and ensure continuous compliance.
  • Conduct regular, in-depth portfolio reviews to assess client performance, identify potential risks, and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for client retention and sustainable growth within the assigned portfolio, contributing to the bank’s overall strategic objectives.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven track record in sales and relationship management within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong, in-depth understanding of financial products and services, encompassing retail and corporate banking offerings.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse client segments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, nurture, and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships.
  • Highly results-oriented with a strong drive to achieve and consistently exceed ambitious sales targets.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Impeccable level of integrity, professional ethics, and adherence to confidentiality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a closely related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIS, ICAN, ACIB) are a distinct advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM software and modern banking systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local Mararaba/Abuja market dynamics, competitive landscape, and business ecosystem.
