Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain various types of fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems, according to design specifications and industry standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to ensure accurate installation.
- Cut, thread, groove, and join pipes, fittings, and hangers using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot sprinkler systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades personnel.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures on-site.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including work reports, timesheets, and safety checklists.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor on client premises.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated with industry advancements and regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering Services (Fire Sprinkler Systems) or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant British Standards (e.g., BS 9251, BS EN 12845) and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in cutting, threading, grooving, and joining various pipe materials (steel, copper, plastic).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic calculations and system components.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- CSCS card (blue or gold skill card).
- IPAF or PASMA certification.
- Experience with various fire suppression technologies beyond sprinklers (e.g., mist, gas).
- First Aid certification.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
