We are seeking an ambitious and client-focused Financial Planner to join a dynamic Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management in the vibrant community of Roundhay, Leeds. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive wealth management solutions to a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth and affluent clients. You will engage in deep discovery conversations to truly understand client aspirations, current circumstances, and risk appetites, subsequently crafting bespoke financial plans that address their immediate needs and long-term objectives.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting thorough financial reviews, developing sophisticated investment strategies, advising on pension and retirement planning, and exploring tax-efficient solutions for wealth preservation and growth. You will be instrumental in helping clients plan for significant life events, such as children’s education, property purchases, business succession, and legacy planning. Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients, ensuring regular reviews and updates to financial plans.
- Conduct comprehensive financial fact-finding meetings to understand clients' financial goals, risk tolerance, and current circumstances.
- Develop and present bespoke financial plans covering investment management, retirement planning, inheritance tax planning, and protection.
- Proactively identify and develop new client relationships through networking, referrals, and business development initiatives.
- Ensure all advice is fully compliant with regulatory requirements and internal company standards.
- Collaborate with internal paraplanning and administration teams to deliver seamless client service.
- Stay abreast of market trends, legislative changes, and new financial products to provide up-to-date and relevant advice.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs to enhance expertise and qualifications.
Required Skills
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Financial Planner or Wealth Manager, advising private clients.
- Proven track record of building and managing a client portfolio.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of financial products, markets, and regulatory frameworks.
- Client-centric approach with a commitment to ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Financial Planner status (CII Level 6) or working towards it.
- Experience with St. James's Place systems and processes (though training will be provided).
- Established professional network within the Leeds area.
- Experience in business development and client acquisition.
