Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team in Singapore. This is an immediate start position, requiring a proactive and results-oriented professional to oversee and manage all financial operations and reporting functions. As a Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our financial data, strict compliance with regulatory standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making across various business units. You will be directly responsible for the accurate preparation of financial statements, comprehensive management reports, robust budgeting, precise forecasting, and the implementation of strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS/SFRS) and company policies.
  • Manage the comprehensive budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with business units to ensure accurate and realistic financial projections.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, investigate variances, and produce detailed financial reports or statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and mitigate financial risks.
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of regulatory reporting to comply with local financial authorities.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with local and international tax reporting requirements and filings.
  • Provide incisive financial analyses and reports to support management in strategic decision-making, performance evaluation, and new business initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Liaise effectively with internal and external auditors to ensure successful and timely audit conclusions.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, CA) is mandatory.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a Financial Controller or similar leadership role within a large organization.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and SFRS and their practical application.
  • Proven extensive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Expert proficiency in financial software and large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas, macros) are essential.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making abilities.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and talent development skills.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience within the banking or financial services industry in Singapore.
  • Familiarity with specific financial regulations and reporting requirements in Singapore.
  • Experience with process automation and digital transformation initiatives in finance functions.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
