Job Description

Northern Air Cargo is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our dynamic and expanding remote team. This is a crucial role for a professional who thrives in a virtual environment while maintaining strong collaboration with an on-site corporate finance department. As a Finance Officer, you will be instrumental in managing the financial health and operational integrity of our organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain general ledger operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and closing procedures.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and providing explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company policies, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
  • Conduct financial data analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide financial insights.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CMA certification.
