Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our Corporate Finance team in Hollywood. This pivotal role will be instrumental in supporting the financial operations and strategic objectives of Lionsgate Entertainment Corporation. The Finance Officer will be responsible for a range of financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insightful contributions to our decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for corporate departments.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance, identifying trends and recommending actions to optimize financial health.
- Conduct financial modeling and analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and M&A activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to gather financial data and provide insightful recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, internal controls, and corporate governance standards.
- Support external audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices within the finance function.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations for senior management and the board of directors.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by the Corporate Finance leadership.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or public accounting.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and PowerPoint.
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CFA certification.
- Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience within the entertainment, media, or technology industries.
- Familiarity with financial consolidation processes and international finance.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
