Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including variance analysis and trend identification.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (IFRS), regulatory requirements, and internal financial policies.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Process invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, and handle payroll-related financial tasks.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and provide financial insights.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity, ensuring optimal management of the bank's financial resources.
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial systems and process improvements.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely filing.
- Contribute to corporate finance projects, including due diligence, valuations, and capital raising activities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a finance role within the banking or corporate sector.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements in Jamaica.
