Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with Spark NZ's overall business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors.
- Manage capital allocation, investment decisions, and financial risk assessment.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards (NZ IFRS), and internal policies.
- Drive optimisation of financial processes, systems, and controls.
- Lead financial due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
- Monitor financial performance against key metrics, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
- Act as a strategic business partner, influencing operational decisions from a financial perspective.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership experience in a senior financial management role (e.g., CFO, Financial Controller, Head of Finance).
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting, and analysis principles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute financial strategies.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and advanced Excel.
