Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate to join our remote accounting team, based out of our Nottingham hub. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of a global market leader. As a Finance Associate, you will play a crucial role in managing our day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards, and supporting our broader finance initiatives. You will be instrumental in processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and assisting with audits, all within a fast-paced and technologically advanced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing requested documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide insightful analysis.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
- Handle ad-hoc financial projects and reporting as required by senior management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a finance or accounting role.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices (IFRS/GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working towards or holding an accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA part-qualified).
