Conexus Credit Union is seeking a dedicated and proactive Finance Analyst to join our dynamic team in Regina, Saskatchewan. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and performance tracking against budgets and forecasts to identify key drivers and insights.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives, business cases, investment decisions, and capital planning.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management and various stakeholders, clearly communicating financial performance and recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, marketing, IT) to gather financial data, understand business drivers, and provide actionable financial insights.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the finance function and across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support for special projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the finance team and across Conexus.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or forecasting.
- Proven ability to perform complex financial modeling and data analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial functions).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Eligibility to work in Canada (successful applicants will need to navigate immigration processes).
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designation (or in progress) such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent.
- Experience in the financial services or credit union industry.
- Proficiency with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, SAP, Oracle).
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
