Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver and pick up packages within an assigned route.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Sort and load packages onto the delivery vehicle according to delivery sequence.
- Scan packages, obtain signatures, and collect payments (when applicable) using a handheld device.
- Inspect vehicle daily for defects and safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips.
- Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route status, delays, and issues.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver packages of varying weights and sizes, often repetitively.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and maneuver packages up to 75 lbs (150 lbs with assistance).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or driving role.
- Knowledge of the Tempe and surrounding Arizona areas.
- Experience operating delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, box trucks).
- Familiarity with handheld scanning devices and logistics software.
