Job Description
SOCODEC is seeking dedicated and robust individuals to join our agricultural team as Farm Workers, specializing in Planting & Harvest operations in Gemena, Sud-Ubangi Province. As a Farm Worker, you will be instrumental in the entire crop cycle, working outdoors in various weather conditions, utilizing both traditional and modern farming techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare land for planting, including clearing fields, tilling soil, and creating seedbeds.
- Plant seeds, seedlings, and saplings by hand or using basic farm equipment.
- Assist with irrigation tasks, ensuring crops receive adequate water.
- Perform weeding, pruning, and other crop maintenance activities to promote healthy growth.
- Monitor crops for signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies and report findings.
- Participate actively in the harvesting of various crops, following established procedures for optimal yield and quality.
- Handle and transport harvested crops safely and efficiently to designated storage or processing areas.
- Operate and maintain basic farm tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily and seasonal objectives.
