Job Description
Harris Farms, Inc. is seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as a Farm Maintenance Worker for a seasonal visa program in the vibrant agricultural region of Fresno, California. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm equipment, machinery, and vehicles (tractors, sprayers, cultivators, etc.).
- Inspect, clean, and maintain irrigation systems, including pipes, pumps, and sprinklers.
- Conduct general upkeep of farm buildings, fences, roads, and other infrastructure.
- Assist with basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs as needed.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery safely and efficiently.
- Participate in field preparation activities, including tilling, planting, and harvesting support.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with all farm safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for maintenance tasks.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in farm labor, general maintenance, or a related manual labor field.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs on equipment.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and basic power tools.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Capacity to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and cold.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid visa for seasonal agricultural work (e.g., H-2A).
