Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic medical team in Katampe, Abuja. The ideal candidate will be a cornerstone in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care within our modern clinic environment. This role demands a professional who is not only clinically proficient but also possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong sense of empathy, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety and well-being. As an Experienced Registered Nurse at DEDOC MEDiCAL CENTRE, you will be instrumental in assessing patient needs, developing and implementing comprehensive care plans, administering medications accurately, educating patients and their families on various health matters, and ensuring meticulous documentation of all medical interventions. You will work collaboratively with physicians, other nurses, and support staff to provide a seamless and positive healthcare experience for all our patients. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and detailed health history collection.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the medical team and patients.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, monitor patient responses, and educate patients on medication management and potential side effects.
  • Perform various nursing procedures, including wound care, vital sign monitoring, catheterization, phlebotomy, and IV fluid administration.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed patient records, ensuring all documentation is compliant with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families on disease prevention, health promotion, lifestyle modifications, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies, providing immediate and appropriate care in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity of service.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
  • Participate actively in continuing professional development, training sessions, and team meetings to enhance clinical skills and knowledge, staying abreast of the latest medical advancements.

Required Skills

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) with current practicing certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification clinical nursing experience, preferably in a hospital, clinic, or primary healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in administering medications, performing patient assessments, and executing a wide range of basic and advanced nursing procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure and emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care, ensuring patient comfort and dignity.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as an integral part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Sound knowledge of medical ethics, patient confidentiality (HIPAA/data protection principles), and relevant healthcare regulations in Nigeria.
  • Basic to intermediate computer literacy for electronic health record (EHR) documentation and other digital tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Advanced certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Experience in specialized areas such as emergency care, maternal and child health, or pediatrics.
  • Proficiency in using specific Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems commonly used in Nigerian healthcare settings.
