Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical issues in marine engines and systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and spark plug checks.
- Repair, rebuild, and replace engines, transmissions, propellers, and other marine components.
- Install and troubleshoot marine electrical systems, navigation equipment, and accessories.
- Execute repairs on hydraulic steering systems, pumps, and other vessel utilities.
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed, parts used, and hours worked.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and environmental regulations in all tasks.
- Provide expert advice and communicate effectively with clients regarding repair options and timelines.
- Keep current with new marine technologies, tools, and repair techniques.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a marine mechanic, specializing in engine repair (inboard/outboard).
- Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel marine engine systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing marine electrical and electronic systems.
- Familiarity with marine hydraulic systems and basic vessel structures.
