Exquisite Events & Decor is seeking a talented Event Planner specializing in decoration and coordination to join our dynamic team in New Green, Mandeville. Your day-to-day will be a vibrant blend of client consultations, brainstorming sessions for unique themes, creating mood boards, managing budgets, and coordinating intricate timelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budget for event decoration and overall coordination.
  • Develop comprehensive event design proposals, including theme concepts, color palettes, decor elements (florals, lighting, linens, furniture, props), and layout plans.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage a diverse range of vendors including florists, rental companies, lighting technicians, and other decor specialists.
  • Create detailed event timelines, production schedules, and floor plans, ensuring all elements are coordinated for seamless execution.
  • Manage event budgets efficiently, tracking expenses and ensuring all services are within financial guidelines.
  • Oversee all logistical aspects of event setup and breakdown, ensuring decor is installed and removed according to plan and schedule.
  • Act as the primary point of contact on event days, coordinating vendors, staff, and ensuring the smooth flow of activities.
  • Conduct site visits to assess venue suitability and plan decor arrangements and logistical requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of event design trends, decor innovations, and new vendor offerings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with clients and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the planning process.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in event planning, with a strong focus on decoration and on-site coordination.
  • Exceptional creativity and a keen eye for aesthetic detail and design.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in budget management and vendor negotiation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relations skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve quickly, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proficiency with event planning software and tools (e.g., floor plan design, timeline management).
  • A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Certification in Event Planning (e.g., CMP, CSEP).
  • Experience with diverse event types, including weddings, corporate events, and large-scale social functions.
