Clear Stream Energy Services is actively seeking an Environmental Compliance Analyst to join our dynamic team in Red Deer, Alberta. As an Environmental Compliance Analyst, you will be instrumental in navigating the complex landscape of environmental regulations impacting our diverse projects across Alberta. You will be responsible for interpreting, implementing, and monitoring adherence to federal, provincial, and municipal environmental legislation, permits, and internal policies. Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulations (e.g., AER, AEP, ECCC) to Clear Stream's operations and projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management plans, procedures, and systems to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential environmental risks, non-compliance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports, permit applications, and other required documentation to environmental agencies.
- Provide expert guidance and support to project managers and field teams on environmental compliance matters, risk mitigation, and best practices.
- Investigate environmental incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor environmental performance metrics, analyze data, and report on trends to internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Stay current with evolving environmental legislation, industry standards, and emerging technologies relevant to the energy services sector.
- Assist in the development and delivery of environmental training programs for employees and contractors.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in environmental compliance or consulting within the energy, industrial, or construction sectors.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of Alberta's environmental regulatory framework (e.g., EPEA, Water Act, AER Directives).
- Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable operational requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and environmental management software.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and ability to travel to various project sites within Alberta.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng, P.Geol, R.P.Bio, C.E.T.) or eligibility for one.
- Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Familiarity with environmental assessment processes and remediation principles.
- Experience working in a field-based or operational support role.
