Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points in accordance with design specifications.
- Perform structured cabling installations (CAT6, Fiber Optic) and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices for optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of network connectivity issues (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi) and hardware malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing timely solutions.
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users for hardware and software-related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all IT assets, document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and compliance.
- Monitor network performance using designated tools, proactively identify potential issues, and escalate complex problems to senior technicians.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of operating systems, essential application software, and security updates across various devices.
- Ensure compliance with company security policies and procedures, contributing to a secure and protected IT environment.
- Collaborate effectively with senior technicians and engineers on larger projects, contributing to project success while continuously expanding technical knowledge.
- Stay updated with new technologies, industry trends, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development initiatives.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSI model, subnetting).
- Familiarity with network cabling standards, tools, and practices (e.g., crimping, testing).
- Proficiency in basic computer hardware assembly, installation, and software troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems; basic Linux command-line skills are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- High level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
