Job Description

This is an exciting and pivotal opportunity for a highly motivated and aspiring Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Gaborone, Botswana. As an Entry Level Civil Engineer, you will work under the direct supervision and mentorship of senior engineers, gaining invaluable hands-on experience across a wide spectrum of civil engineering projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers in the comprehensive design, analysis, and meticulous planning of diverse civil engineering projects.
  • Conduct thorough site investigations, precise surveys, and systematic data collection to inform project decisions.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, comprehensive specifications, and technical reports utilizing relevant software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Perform accurate calculations and in-depth analyses for structural integrity, hydraulic systems, and geotechnical stability in designs.
  • Support project managers in diligently monitoring construction progress and ensuring strict compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Review and interpret complex technical documents, intricate blueprints, and detailed topographical maps.
  • Participate actively in client meetings, effectively communicating project updates and addressing queries.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate project documentation, records, and filing systems.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, industry standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, training programs, and knowledge sharing initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited and recognized institution.
  • Strong foundational knowledge and understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or practical work experience in a civil engineering consulting or construction environment.
