Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and calibrations on electrical equipment and control systems, including motors, switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, and instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex electrical and control system malfunctions to minimize operational downtime and ensure system integrity.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to facilitate maintenance and repair activities.
  • Install, configure, and commission new electrical equipment and instrumentation in accordance with engineering specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct thorough safety checks and adhere strictly to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, confined space entry protocols, and all Enbridge safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and other maintenance teams to optimize system performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations outside of regular working hours as required.
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction in electrical operations.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, federal, and company regulations and standards.

Required Skills

  • Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in an industrial or utility environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems (up to 480V).
  • Strong understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including programming and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor control systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and system navigation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience in the oil and gas or pipeline industry.
  • Familiarity with specific PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Knowledge of high voltage systems (above 480V).
  • Experience with instrumentation and control systems (e.g., transmitters, control valves).
  • Certification in specific electrical safety training programs.
