Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior electricians in conducting routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative upkeep of industrial electrical equipment and control systems.
  • Actively participate in learning to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in machinery, motor control centers, and power distribution networks.
  • Execute electrical installations, component replacements, and system upgrades strictly adhering to safety standards and company operational procedures.
  • Support the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of all electrical infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, and inventory of materials used.
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety regulations and protocols, including Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Engage continuously in formal training sessions and practical application to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and production departments, to ensure seamless plant operations and minimize downtime.
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical breakdowns and assist in rapid fault isolation and restoration of power.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of electrical testing equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Basic theoretical and practical understanding of electrical principles and circuits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow complex technical instructions and electrical schematics.

  • Possession of a valid Kenyan driving license.
