Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, cheque cashing, and bill payments.
- Verify customer identities and transaction details to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with banking regulations.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer, balance daily transactions, and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering assistance with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell Ecobank products and services, referring customers to relevant departments when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Educate customers on various banking products, services, and digital solutions offered by Ecobank.
- Handle customer complaints and provide appropriate solutions, escalating complex issues to supervisory staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance product knowledge and banking skills.
- Assist with other branch operational duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.
Required Skills
- Excellent cash handling and counting skills with high accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a financial or retail setting.
- High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and experience with banking software.
- Ability to work meticulously with attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of an OND/HND/BSc in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Previous experience as a Teller or in a similar cash-handling role in a bank or financial institution.
- Familiarity with Ecobank products and services.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance procedures.
- Ability to speak local languages relevant to the community (e.g., Ikwerre, Kalabari) is an added advantage.
