Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Relationship Manager to join our dynamic team in Rumuokoro, Port Harcourt. This is a critical role responsible for driving business growth, deepening existing client relationships, and expanding our market share within the vibrant Port Harcourt region. As an Ecobank Relationship Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of high-value individual and corporate clients, understanding their financial needs and providing tailored banking solutions. Your day will involve identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client loyalty, and meticulously managing your portfolio to achieve set targets across various product offerings including loans, deposits, digital solutions, and wealth management products. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a diversified portfolio of existing high-net-worth individual and corporate clients within the Port Harcourt market.
- Proactively identify and acquire new business opportunities to expand Ecobank's client base and market penetration.
- Develop and implement robust client relationship strategies to foster loyalty, deepen engagement, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Achieve and exceed agreed-upon sales targets for various banking products and services, including loans, deposits, trade finance, foreign exchange, and digital banking solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive financial needs analysis for clients, providing expert advice and recommending suitable Ecobank products and services.
- Act as a trusted advisor, understanding clients' business models and financial objectives to offer strategic solutions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and economic indicators to identify potential impacts on clients and advise management.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments such as Credit, Operations, Product Development, and Treasury to deliver seamless and integrated solutions to clients.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports, sales forecasts, and client insights to senior management.
- Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and compliance standards.
- Resolve client inquiries and issues promptly and professionally, escalating complex matters when necessary.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in Relationship Management or a similar client-facing role within the banking or financial services sector.
- Strong track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of banking products, services, and financial markets.
- Customer-centric mindset with a strong ability to build rapport and trust.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Bachelor's degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), CIS, ACCA).
- An established network of business contacts within the Port Harcourt commercial community.
- Experience with digital banking platforms and fintech solutions.
- Fluency in additional local languages relevant to the Port Harcourt market.
