Job Description

National Museums Liverpool is seeking an enthusiastic E-commerce Specialist to join our dynamic retail team. Based on the iconic Merseyside Waterfront, this pivotal role is responsible for the seamless operation of our online store, from product listing and content management to order processing and efficient fulfilment. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and update product listings, descriptions, and imagery on the e-commerce platform.
  • Process online orders accurately and efficiently, including packing and shipping items in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for online stock, coordinating with the retail team for stock replenishment.
  • Handle customer enquiries related to online orders, shipping, and products via email and phone, providing excellent service.
  • Monitor e-commerce performance metrics, identifying trends and suggesting improvements to maximise sales and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support online promotions, campaigns, and new product launches.
  • Ensure the online store content is fresh, engaging, and reflective of the museums' brand and current exhibitions.
  • Oversee the maintenance and functionality of the e-commerce website, troubleshooting minor issues and coordinating with IT support.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new e-commerce features, integrations, or improvements to enhance user experience.
  • Ensure all fulfilment operations adhere to health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2.5 years) in managing an e-commerce platform (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce).
  • Strong understanding of online order processing and fulfilment workflows, including packing and shipping logistics.
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and stock control processes.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, for customer interaction and internal collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Basic understanding of web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to interpret data and identify actionable insights.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and reporting.
  • A genuine interest in culture, heritage, and the mission of National Museums Liverpool.
