Key Responsibilities
- Perform live DJ sets, mixing music across various genres (Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, EDM) to maintain a high-energy atmosphere.
- Read and respond to the crowd's mood and preferences, adapting music selection and flow accordingly.
- Operate and troubleshoot professional audio and lighting equipment efficiently and effectively.
- Engage with the audience, making clear announcements, taking requests, and encouraging participation.
- Collaborate with management to plan and execute themed nights, special events, and promotional activities.
- Maintain an up-to-date and diverse music library, continuously incorporating new and popular tracks while honoring classics.
- Ensure timely setup and breakdown of equipment before and after performances, adhering to venue schedules.
- Adhere strictly to venue policies and regulations, including sound levels, operating hours, and safety protocols.
- Maintain a professional and positive demeanor at all times, representing the Fyah Side brand with excellence.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Club DJ or Entertainment DJ in a live venue setting.
- Expertise in mixing various music genres, demonstrating seamless transitions and dynamic sets.
- Proficiency with professional DJ software (e.g., Serato DJ, Rekordbox, Traktor) and hardware (turntables, CDJs, mixers).
- Strong understanding of sound engineering principles and basic lighting systems operation.
- Excellent crowd reading and engagement skills, with a track record of creating vibrant atmospheres.
- Ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the entertainment schedule.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact positively with patrons and staff.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism in all aspects of work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or formal training in sound engineering, music production, or audio technology.
- Experience with visual mixing (VDJ) or integrating visual elements into live performances.
