Key Responsibilities
- Assist the driver with loading and unloading packages, ensuring items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Verify package counts and ensure accuracy against delivery manifests.
- Navigate routes effectively alongside the driver, providing assistance with directions and identifying delivery locations.
- Safely deliver packages to customers' doorsteps, adhering to GIG Logistics' service standards.
- Collect signatures and payments (where required) from customers upon successful delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with customers and the operations team regarding delivery status or any issues encountered.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with other general duties as assigned by the driver or supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of customer service principles.
- Familiarity with Ifako-Ijaiye and surrounding Lagos areas is a plus.
