Job Description
World Vision International DR Congo is seeking a dedicated and passionate Donor Relations Officer to join our dynamic team in Likasi, Haut-Katanga Province. This pivotal role will be instrumental in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with our valued donors, ensuring their continued engagement and support for our critical programs. The Donor Relations Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive donor stewardship strategies, demonstrating the impact of their contributions, and facilitating effective communication. You will work closely with program teams to gather compelling stories and data, transforming them into impactful reports and communications that resonate with donors. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive donor stewardship plan to ensure consistent and meaningful engagement.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
- Prepare personalized donor communications, including impact reports, thank-you letters, and project updates, highlighting the direct results of their contributions.
- Coordinate and manage donor visits to project sites in Likasi and surrounding areas, ensuring a positive and informative experience.
- Collaborate with program and finance teams to gather data, success stories, and beneficiary testimonies for donor reporting and communication materials.
- Monitor donor preferences and giving history to tailor communication strategies and identify opportunities for increased engagement.
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of donor information and interactions into the donor database (CRM).
- Assist in the development of fundraising proposals and campaigns by providing insights into donor interests and trends.
- Represent World Vision International at local community events and donor engagement activities as required.
- Adhere to World Vision's safeguarding policies and codes of conduct in all interactions.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, communications, or a similar role, preferably within an NGO environment.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and Swahili (local language proficiency is a strong asset).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge).
- Demonstrated passion for humanitarian work and alignment with World Vision's mission and values.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo or other complex humanitarian contexts.
- Proven track record of successfully securing and stewarding high-value donors.
- Familiarity with international donor regulations and reporting requirements.
- Fluency in English is a significant advantage.
