Key Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely to ensure all dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and shelving, throughout shifts.
- Properly store clean dishes, glassware, and equipment in designated areas, ensuring easy access for kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Assist with basic kitchen prep tasks as needed, such as peeling vegetables or stocking supplies.
- Remove trash and recycling from the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring proper waste disposal procedures are followed.
- Monitor dishwashing machine temperatures and chemical levels to ensure proper sanitation standards are met.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and serving staff to ensure a continuous flow of clean dishes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Head Chef to support overall kitchen operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety (training provided).
