Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation, curation, and scheduling of engaging digital content for various platforms (social media, website, email newsletters, etc.).
  • Support the planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM initiatives, email marketing, social media advertising, and display advertising.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance using various analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights), providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and new digital opportunities relevant to our target audience.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., product development, sales, customer service) to ensure brand consistency and align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Manage and update website content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and optimal user experience.
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions for new marketing initiatives, creative content ideas, and innovative campaign concepts.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends, tools, technologies, and best practices to ensure Safaricom remains at the forefront of the industry.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Basic understanding of core digital marketing concepts (SEO, SEM, social media marketing, content marketing, email marketing).
  • Proficiency in using major social media platforms for business purposes (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw actionable insights.
  • High level of creativity, attention to detail, and a strong aesthetic sense.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Prior internship or project experience in digital marketing, either academic or professional.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools or CRM software.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for content creation.
