Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, cherry picker) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve products.
- Load and unload trailers and containers, ensuring proper documentation and secure handling of freight.
- Stack and organize products in designated warehouse locations according to established procedures.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Verify inbound and outbound product counts, reporting discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and participate in cycle counts as required.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and truck drivers to optimize workflow.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) or handheld scanners for accurate tracking of goods.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing material handling operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year (12 months) of recent experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Valid forklift certification/license (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Proven ability to operate sit-down, stand-up, and/or reach truck forklifts.
- Demonstrated understanding and strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory.
- Basic computer literacy for WMS and scanning equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, order pickers).
- Familiarity with various warehouse management systems (WMS).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in a logistics or supply chain environment.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
