Key Responsibilities
- Plan and optimize daily routes for couriers, considering traffic, weather, and delivery priorities to maximize efficiency and on-time performance.
- Monitor real-time progress of deliveries, tracking vehicles using GPS and other systems to ensure adherence to schedules and resolve any deviations promptly.
- Communicate effectively with couriers, providing clear instructions, updates, and support, and addressing any issues or emergencies they may encounter.
- Act as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and service disruptions, providing accurate and timely information.
- Coordinate with warehouse and sorting facility teams to ensure timely loading and unloading of shipments and efficient handovers.
- Resolve operational challenges such as vehicle breakdowns, route changes, or unforeseen delays, making quick decisions to minimize impact on service.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, logs, and reports, ensuring all operational data is captured correctly.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and transportation laws.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization and recommending solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or a related operational role.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Dallas, Texas, and surrounding areas.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and instructions.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a proven capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
